WHY PARTICIPATE IN A BREAK? WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
 

Money. Everything is expensive these days, this includes sports cards. But the hobbyist really wants to get started or continue in the hobby. The Break allows them to collect what they want without having as big of a risk or monetary investment at a fraction of the cost without purchasing expensive box of sports cards.

 

Variety. The number of sports cards sets, series, variations is large and growing each day. A collector or investor interested in a narrow focus cannot afford to buy them all. Breaking allows them to donate to participate in a specific event in hopes of expanding their collection. It also exposes them to the different sports cards available with a limited investment.

 

Breaks allow collectors or investors to donate for a chance to obtain a small part of a sports cards box, usually a favorite team or player, at a reduced cost to them. As opposed to buying a complete box and owning sports cards they do not wish to collect or keep.

 

As a collector or investor, the opportunity to win a valuable card at the very affordable participation donation. Example: Donate $10 and win a card worth $100. Cost savings of $90.

 

Another reason is the pure enjoyment and fun and excitement for a hobbyist, collector, or investor of seeing what sports cards they may win in the Break.

WHAT IS A BOX BREAK?

 

The “break” of a seal on a selected box of sports cards and the individual card packages. This is done on a live YouTube video as participants watch to see what cards they may win. Note: The videos remain on YouTube.com for the participants to watch or review at their convenience after the live break is over.

HOW DO BREAKS WORK AND HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

 

  • Breaks are announced in pinned Facebook messages on our page above.

  • A specific box, pack or multiple boxes or packs of sports cards will be highlighted and pictured so the collectors can visually see what is being offered on the particular Break

  • Each Break will provide teams listed accompanied by identifying number next to each team

  • To participate the collector:

    • picks a specific team(s) and provides a comment on that he/she wants that team(s)

    • agrees to a random of a team(s) cards

  • The collector then donates that amount to the listed “donation” options at the bottom of each post. The donation amounts are established based on the cost of the boxes and packs to the us. We try to keep the donations down for the collector.

  • Once all the teams have been claimed by the collectors, the break is conducted on a live video. This allows the collector to watch as the box(es) of cards are opened in real time. The collector is able to identify the sports cards for the team(s) they donated.

  • At the end of the Break the Departure Breaks administrator recaps the cards drawn

  • Cards that belong to the team(s) of your choosing will be packaged and shipped directly to you!

WHAT IF I MISS THE ACTUAL “LIVE” BREAK?

 

We recognize participants may have schedule conflicts or may inadvertently miss the “live” Break. If that happens you can visit the Departure Breaks FaceBook page and search for the Break Number that you donated to join.

 

 

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF SHIPPING? WHEN DOES SHIPPING OCCUR?

 

Shipping costs is $3.50 each time you request your cards. We will file your cards until you ask them to be shipped – normally on the Saturday after your request. The shipping cost is paid for via PayPal.

 

HOW DO WE PACKAGED CARDS IN PREPARATION FOR MAILING TO YOU?

 

  • Rookies and “hits” (a value card that is pulled in a break) are PENNY SLEEVED and TOP LOADED as well for protection

  • After the above they are placed into team bags and put into protective envelopes

  • Those will then be placed into an additional protective envelope and stamped with the Departure Breaks stamp of approval!
